I Heart Monday vol. 14

7/9/2015

This should actually be volume 15 because 14 got deleted. Still so upset about that.

Ok! Here are some of the things I am loving these past few (read: four) weeks!! I'm just going to get right to it 1) because I am still at the lake and 2) the last time I uploaded my post at the lake, it got deleted. So no fancy business!!!

Tiger Balm

I used to get this stuff in Shanghai, no idea what it's called, but it was in a green container and smelled like Vicks. I used it for everything and it is seriously the best. Since I can't find it in Toledo, I've asked a few people what might be similar and they said Tiger Balm.

This stuff is the best. I use it for mosquito bites, bee stings (my mom got one yesterday), bruises, aches and pains, you name it.

Vintage Cars

Going through Brooklyn, MI there is always this green 1973 convertible for sale in the parking lot of the antique store. It's got me thinking that it would be so great to have an old 'Sunday Driver' kind of car. You know, the kind where you drive it to church and that's it. I got to googling and found the cutest old Fiat!! David...put it on my wish list!!

Autumn!

I can't even believe I'm saying this right now, but I am so excited for Autumn. Slouchy sweaters, leggings and boots. Not too hot, not too cold. I'm actually looking forward to it for once!! Plus, who knows if you're wearing a bra or not. It's a win win.

NYX Black Eyeliner

Let me just say, that I have never been big into makeup in general. I had nothing against wearing makeup, but just never was really interested, and no one ever taught me (looking at you mom). However, not having a big kid job means that I have loads of spare time, which means I get a little bored. So I thought that this is the perfect time to play with makeup like a little girl. What looks good on me? How do you put this on? What's a highlight? What is contouring? How do they get that perfect wing tip? Why is it so hard to get both eyes to match?  Practise makes perfect?! YES!

I must also admit that I have never used eye liner before, ever. So when my friend Des was in town last weekend, I was like SHOW ME YOUR WAYS. We went to Ulta (my first time in Ulta) and I got the grand tour. I settled on the NYX Liquid Black Liner (and about ten other things). It said it had a pen tip, and I can work a pen, so I bought it. I can safely say that after opening the box, I had a bit of a panic attack. It's got a brush. A BRUSH. What was I meant to do with a brush?! Thankfully I had three hours before work and a new bottle of makeup remover so I just went to town.

I love it. You choose how thick you want your liner to be, super thin to black eye. You choose. It stays on all day. At the moment I'm a nanny so even though I do have some spare time during the day (hello naptime!), I do NOT have time to be reapplying eyeliner. This stuff is perfect.

If you have any products that you LOVE, leave them in the comments below!!! I'm always looking to try new products and it's always better to pick them up via recommendation than by looking at the packaging, which is what I usually do!

Leave me some love!
