I have no idea what these are actually meant to be called, but I call them heaven.
Roaming around Pinterest is the photo below 👇 and I have been wanting to try to make them for ages. However, NONE of the ingredients were available in Shanghai. Thank god I got semi stranded in the states then huh?!
Ok I guess they call them Caramel Snickerdoodles. But that just sounds silly.
I've found this photo over and over again, and ever time I try to click to find out where it's from or if those are thre complete directions, I get 'invalid link.' Lame.
So I tried to make them myself just going off the picture. And they turned out amazeballs.
Here's what you need! They are also shown in the photo above since I forgot to take a picture of all the ingredients.
One tube of the Pillsbury sheet crescent rolls
Kraft caramels (individually wrapped ones)
Unwrap your caramels. Unwrap and roll out your Pillsbury roll.
Lay your caramels about an inch apart on top of the roll and then cut squares around them. They do not need to be perfect! I got 4 in a row (25 in all-don't ask how that happened!) See photo below.
Now. Wrap the dough around each caramel so no caramel is showing. Then roll it in your sugar cinnamon mix.
The sugar cinnamon mix I just guessed at, and you can tailor it to your liking. I used about 1 tbsp cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar, mixed it all together and it was PLENTY. If you're not a fan of cinnamon then simply don't add as much. This is your kitchen! Do what you want!
They should all look like this on the tray. Hey don't expand that much so you can put them fairly close together.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 11-14 minutes. They should not feel doughy, but just a bit firm.
Next is the hardest part. You have to let them cool. That caramel is freaking hot in there, and WILL burn your fingers/tongue and it won't wash off quickly. It's caramel. It's sticky.
Let them cool for about five minutes. The house will smell amazing and you will want to eat them, but wait.
Then enjoy. :)
If you know who initially posted the picture on Pinterest please let me know. I would love to tag them or link to their site. :)
I'm bringing these to a girls night tonight so we will see how they are!!! I'll give an update tomorrow.
Have a great Saturday!
