It’s that time of the week again! My I heart Monday is going up a little bit later in the day than I planned on due to me trying to figure out what I’ve been loving (and, of course, work). I seriously could tell you a hundred things I love but once I sit down to write about some of them I completely blank. Case in point, my first item I’ve been LOVING. If you’re my friend on Facebook (or any other social media outlet, really) you know that I have been REALLY into baking for the past couple of months. I love cooking and have always wanted to become a better baker but since I was doing everything by hand, I was prone to avoiding most desserts. Well, I purchased the KitchenAid hand mixer off of Amazon and it was so cheap I want to buy one for everyone I know. I’m loving this mixer and I’m pretty sure my husband and coworkers are loving it too! For years my go to fragrance has been Ralph Lauren’s romance. Well, I’m trying to branch out and try other things. I recently purchased Burberry Brit and love it as well. It opens with fresh notes of green lemon, frosted pear and white almond. The heart blooms with white peony. The drydown is very gourmand with vanilla, amber, mahogany and balsamic Tonka bean accords. Now that it’s getting colder I’m regretfully having to retire my work out shorts for the year. My replacements? I’ve been loving Target’s workout leggings. I personally love a yoga pant that is tapered in at the bottom so it doesn’t swish around when I’m trying to get my sweat on. One of my favorite things to do is take a bath, especially after working out that day. I love Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt soak in Eucalyptus and Spearmint. It smells just like Vick’s Vapor Rub, which is one of my favorite scents. It helps me relax!
I think that’s just about everything for this week! Let me know what you’re into in the comments below! Instead of an I Heart Monday post, I thought we could take min and give you all an update on what we've been doing! I feel like there has been a lot of really exciting things happening lately, and sharing IS caring. Last week we updated the whole look of the blog, and this week we've been focusing on the Facebook page. We've activated the 'review' section of the Facebook page! I am so excited for this! If you've bought something from The Barmy Fox, I'd love to hear about it, so head on over and let us know what you think! I've made so many bags/burp cloths/bibdanas, and would love to see how you've used them (plus who doesn't love photos of babies?!). Send us a photo of your item in action!!! Below are a couple photos of my booth in the craft fair this past weekend. I am so thankful that so many of my friends and family came to support me and the other artisans who had their goods up for sale. Not everything was handmade, but I was definitely not the only one who had handmade goods. The weather was not on our side, but some people did come out to purchase some holiday gifts and I am so appreciative!! I had such a good time making all these things over the past week (yes I made everything on the table in one week) and feel that I definitely have the right job! I've added a few new things to the shop, mainly hand painted cards and embroidery hoops. The embroidery hoops can be customised any way you'd like, just send me a message! Another huge thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday!!!! After investigating shipping options from the UK to the states, I have concluded that it's way less than I thought it was going to be-so THE SHOP IS OPEN AGAIN! I am not opening the etsy shop yet, because of issues with pounds to dollars and bank accounts etc, but I AM taking orders for the holidays starting now! I REPEAT. I am taking orders for the holidays starting today!! I reckon it will take about ten days for your package to arrive, so order early to ensure it comes before the holidays! You can order through Facebook or through the 'contact us' tab on the blog. Just let me know what you are looking for and I can make it and send it! Also, within the next couple days, the blog will officially be one year old! (gasp!) Happy birthday to us!!! I cannot believe it has been a whole year since I started this! Sooooo, for our birthday we are giving out pressies - which is super good news for you! Be on the look out for coupon codes and special monthly promotions (just in time for the holidays!) Finally...saving the best for last!!!! David and I have welcomed a new member of the family!!!! Meet Jessie! She's part Husky, and (they think) part short haired collie. We got her from the Birmingham Dogs Home about a month ago. She's between 8 and 10 months old, and loves to play, sleep, eat (repeat). Some days she's pretty naughty, but most days she just wants some love. She's snuck cookies, pears, and loves the occasional stick for dessert, but man is she cute. She also likes to get into places where she's not meant to be (i.e. the sofa, the rubbish bin, and every cabinet you open) but then she looks at you like "Look at how cute I am!" so I have to snap a photo before telling her off. Check back tomorrow for our first promotion (it's going to be a good one!) and don't forget to leave us some love!!
Tory xx These weeks sure so fly by! I swear it was just last week that I wrote the last I heart Monday post! This week it's going to be on a Tuesday! But no worries. Just a quick update about what's been going on around here. We have a new layout that I ADORE. Des is a magician and I swear she can read my mind, it is so perfect for The Barmy Fox! My work was selected to be in a craft show this weekend here in England! So exciting! I've been making and making and making, and I still am not sure if I will have enough things! Looks like I might need another quick run to Hobby Craft. It you're in England and want to come, it's in Wythall on the 14th of November at the 1st Tilbury Green Scouts Scout HQ (B47 6LZ). There will be tea, coffee and cakes for sale as well! I went to my first bonfire night here in England! Also known as Guy Fawkes Night or Guy Fawkes Day, it's to celebrate the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life. November 5, 1605 Guy Fawkes was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had places beneath the House of Lords. In celebration that the king was still alive, people lit bonfires around London and months later the public day was born. There was a huge bonfire, drinking and fireworks. What's not to like?! I got a new car!!! Things are really coming together over here-I can't say much more, but the first part is that I have a car! It's a beauty! Still have only driven it once but I'm trying! Because of this craft show, I've been making a lot of things, and have had so many ideas for new items to put in the shoppe (once it opens again). I've also been thinking about international shipping so that I can open the shoppe in the states as well (it's been on holiday for a month). It's very exciting, but I'm worried about the shipping. Would you pay more for shipping? Let me know what you think and I'll open the shoppe back up! LUSH. David got me some bath bombs for my birthday and they are divine. I am sure I have written about these before, but damn. They are good. They make your skin so so silky soft, and the smells are amazing. If you've never tried them. go get yourself one or ten. I didn't get the bombs that fizz up, I got the ones that dissolve slowly. They are huge so you can break them in half or quarters to make them last longer! There is so much more I want o write about...but cannot!!! I have some recipes going up this week, some exciting news, and maybe even a DIY, so stay tuned!!!
Leave me some love, Tory xx Hey guys, it’s been a while! Tory and I have decided to nix the “Monthly Favorites” and just rotate the “I Heart Monday” posts. I haven't written in a while so hopefully this will get me back in the swing of things. So, without further ado, let’s get it. If you know me, you know I’m not a huge fan of bras. I get the purpose, but most of the time they’re annoying to me. As of late, I’ve been REALLY into bralettes. They’re cute, offer support (the ones I wear during the day do), and they make me feel like a Victoria’s Secret model. What’s better than that? Other than actually being one, of course. Nivea Post Shave Balm for sensitive skin. Random, I know, BUT it is AMAZING as a face primer! Tip: you rub (not pat) it onto your face until it gets slightly tacky. That will make whatever makeup you choose to wear adhere to it! WhatsApp/Skype. I am SO thankful for these two programs. They have made it much easier for me to stay in touch with one of my best friends, now if only they could help me tackle this time difference! NCIS. I’ve always been a fan of the show but I’ve recently started to rewatch all of the seasons that are on Netflix and I realized that I really miss watching it. Also, I totally have a thing for Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly. No shame. OPI’s “It’s a Piazza Cake”. This reddish orange SLAYS MY LIFE. There's not one hint of shimmer in it, so it looks really classy. Pair it with a high gloss top coat and you're the epitome of fall time feels. That's what I have been loving this past week, what are you into? We've got some really great blogs planned for the future so hopefully we can be a little more regular about our posts. What are things YOU want to read about? Let us know in the comments below!
