So I have definitely been neglecting this space-and that needs to change! I'm hoping that 2015 bring a sense of balance to my life. Balance in a sense that you can't fully dive into any one thing, you need to give all of the things (or people!) you love in your life equal attention. I'm always neglecting things that I think take too long (my nails), that I can do later (like laundry), that take too much concentration (creating new patterns/products for my shop), and especially things that don't need to be done every day (like dusting and sweeping- yuck). In Shanghai I was always good at managing my time, and I think it was because I had LOADS to do all the time so I HAD to be organised. Plus we had an ayi (cleaner) to come twice a week-so that helped tremendously!! Now that I don't have much to do, I find myself slacking off because I keep telling myself that I have loads of time to do it, so it doesn't need to get done right this second. I think it's never too late to change your habits, and you don't even have to wait until Monday. Gasp!! So here's the plan, I'm going to try a new planner and really organise my time more efficiently. I've downloaded the Day Designer free pdf planning page. I've been drooling over their planners for months and they always seem to be sold out. I checked their website the other day and saw that they have a free pdf page to print and use to see if you'd like their planner. It. Is. Awesome. Taking a quick glance, I like that it's a day by day planner, and not a whole weeks view. It has enough space for your top three tasks that you want to get done for the day (making you really think about your goals for the day), an hour by hour planning section, a to-do list, a gratitude section, a space to plan dinner, and even a place to jot down things you need to download ALL ON ONE PAGE! Above is a photo of it, but really- download it for yourself from here and get to planning your day! Seriously. Genius. I really hope that I can snag one of these planners when they come out in March and April!! I'll let you know how it goes and if I like it or not!! Tory xx I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and I saw that one of my friends had posted a link about spreading joy. I was so curious because who doesn't like being happy?! Pimpin Joy is all about just that-bringing joy to other people. We've all had times in our lives that have tested our patience, faith and ability to stay positive. It takes an extra amount of effort to choose to be happy and pass on joy to others. While we like to Pimp Joy on a daily basis, The Bobby Bones Show is dedicating a full week (March 3-7) to choosing and spreading joy in honor of people that are prime examples of making a conscious effort to not let hardship or difficulty cause them to lose hope or positivity in their lives. -pimpinjoy.com I think this is just amazing, and such a good idea. The best part is, you can choose how you want to accomplish this. Are you giving extra hugs or smiles out this week (they ARE free)? Will you shovel the snow from someone's driveway? Will you pay for someone's Starbucks?! Unload the dishwasher without being told? :) You choose how you want to spread joy, and there is no wrong way! Use hashtag #pimpinjoy and show how you are spreading joy this week!! Tory xx |
